I will be enlisting for the ARMY on June 7th 2012! Which means I will rarely be online. I’ll miss posting here and remember that I’ll always come back!
I will not be able to attend Pink Dot this year as I am enlisting in June! I will probably attend it next year!
Have fun you guys! Show Singapore what we’re made of!
My friend who works at the A&E department told me today that a young man who is currently serving his National Service (Army) attempted suicide by consuming 40 Panadols because he was gay.
No matter how liberal you think a country is on the surface, there are always people who make you feel like an outsider and the net result is this, people trying to kill themselves to escape from being tormented.
This is not an issue about guts or toughing it out, it is about setting things right. It is about taking a brave and noble step forward by making laws that will ensure the safety of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender community. Schools need to discuss about homosexuality without aversion. People are far too afraid to deal with issues that are foreign to them especially if it is LGBT themed. There are many false preconceptions about gay people that are already ingrained in the minds of many people and these people need to know the truth.
Until we have this sorted out, we will be leaving the gay kids out there to fend for themselves against a legion of homophobic people who are just too darn lazy to do the right thing— being a man.
A real man is unfazed by a gay person.
